The AMD Ryzen 5 7400 is a desktop processor with 6 cores and 12 threads, launched in Sep 2025. It utilizes the AMD Socket AM5 socket. The Ryzen 5 7400 has 16 MB of L3 cache and operates at 3.30 GHz by default, but can boost up to 4.30 GHz, depending on the workload. The unlocked multiplier on the Ryzen 5 7400 makes it much easier to overclock, allowing you to choose any desired frequency. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) the core-count is effectively doubled to 12 threads. This processor supports memory speeds up to DDR5-5200 utilizing dual memory channels. The processor was built using 5 nm production process. Ryzen 5 7400 communicates with other components in the computer through a PCI-Express Gen 5 link.
