The AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D is a desktop processor with 12 cores and 24 threads, launched in Mar 2025. It utilizes the AMD AM5 socket. The Ryzen 9 9900X3D has 128 MB of L3 cache and operates at 4.40 GHz by default, but can boost up to 5.50 GHz, depending on the workload. The unlocked multiplier on the Ryzen 9 9900X3D makes it much easier to overclock, allowing you to choose any desired frequency. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) the core-count is effectively doubled to 24 threads. This processor supports memory speeds up to DDR5-5600 utilizing dual memory channels. The processor was built using 4 nm production process. Ryzen 9 9900X3D communicates with other components in the computer through a PCI-Express Gen 5 link.
